It has been a while and whilst I keep going to write posts, something always goes wrong for me – internet breaks, holiday season gets the best of me or I succumb to a DVD marathon of all my new favourite TV shows!
So I thought I would ease myself back into blogging for 2014 with an Insta Update so you all can see what I have been doing in the most flattering of filters of course!
Sometimes the world feels like it’s against you, you are running late for work, you get a ladder in your stockings whilst getting out of your car in a rush, you bang your knee on your draws as you rush to turn your computer on then you spill your coffee all over your new cream silk blouse before your 10am meeting!
It’s easy to indulge in negative mood but if you stop and think about three things that make you smile, it makes life so much easier – for you and everyone around you!
Three things making me smile today are:
A bunch of my favourite spring blooms
Fish & chips at the beach after work
A walk with my adoring husband – nothing makes me smile more than when I’m with him!
And if your still not smiling after that, just remember smiling creates fewer wrinkles!
On Saturday I finally started crossing off activities from my Sydney Bucket List that I posted about here. Anthony and I woke up early Saturday morning and drove across the bridge to complete the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk. It was approximately 14 km of steep stairs and narrow winding walkways that wrap around the shore line and boasted some spectacular scenery. I didn’t realise there were so many stairs, granted I didn’t bother to ask anyone, so my knee was feeling rather sorry for itself by the end of the walk. We managed complete the round trip in fairly good time and in one, slightly swollen, dehydrated and delirious piece.
Here are a few shots from the walk (including the obligatory breakfast shot):
The rest of the weekend was a bit of a right off and we spent it lounging around the apartment recovering from our adventure.
This week I have been trawling the internet for some inspiration to liven up my apartment in time for spring, since it is the season of regeneration and all. And speaking of spring and its impending arrival, I am so excited to start planning out my Spring/Summer wardrobe! Anyway, here are the websites I have been checking out this week:
I have been meaning to transfer my photos into photo books for over a year now and these albums have finally given me the inspiration
Spring is the season of new beginnings and this year my apartment is going to get a little spring make over, I am currently loving the tropical chic look – pineapple lamps, palm print cushions and definitely cocktails!
I love to cook, but I have a particular style of cooking and I tend to stick to it. So I was really excited when one of my lovely friends informed me of the cooking classes held at William-Sonoma. I would really love to learn a new cuisine.
If you weren’t front row at the recent David Jones Spring/Summer show, then you have to check this out. I am now obsessed with Jessica Gomes, vivid prints and monochrome swimsuits!
If you are a cricket fan and you have been watching the Ashes, then you have to watch this youtube clip – hilarious!
I am always up for a hybrid bakery treat (cronut anyone?), so when I saw this article on Refinery29, I decided to make it my mission to track one of these “Townies” down
