I’m back! Bali was a blast, I had such a fantastic time but I am glad to be home – even if it is a lot colder. I was devastated on Friday when all my Bali photo’s were wiped from my iPhone due to bug whilst updating my software. So instead of my original plans for my Bali post, here is holiday version of my Insta Update series. A warning before you go any further, there is a lot of sun and a lot of cocktails – it was a holiday after all!
I can’t believe another weekend has come and gone! This weekend Anth and I finally started cleaning out our spare room. Due to an engagement, a wedding and multiple christmas and birthdays our spare room has slowly become to resemble an episode of Hoarders! After numerous trips to our new storage unit, we now have a spare room back and we are very excited to be able to access our linen without having a search party sent in after us. This morning we rewarded our tireless efforts with a lazy Sunday morning sleep in and breakfast in bed. Later we headed to the shops for coffee and some light shopping then back home, where we parked ourselves on the lounge and haven’t moved since – bliss!
As I am in a lazy mood, here is snapshot of my recent happenings, enjoy:
Hope you have all had a great weekend and here is to fantastic week ahead!
My Five Favourite’s this week is in anticipation of tonight. Anthony and I are joining our soon to be married friends for High Tea with a twist at the White Heart this evening. The twist is that the High Tea is served as deconstructed cocktails! So with cocktails on the brain, here are my five favourite cocktails:
- Vodka Martini – dirty, shaken and with 3 olives
- Cosmopolitan – Carrie introduced me many years ago and they have been a favourite ever since
- Manhattan – need to be made with only the best liquor
- Turkish Apple Martini – my own creation so of course it’s to my taste
- Margarita – with or without a Mexican fiesta!
I hope this inspires you to have a tipple or two tonight!
I am Bali bound in less than 8 weeks and I am starting to get really excited. We are heading over with a fabulous group of people, for the wedding of some close friends. I got my jab last night in preparation for the trip and my arm is now a sore dead weight so to cheer me up I thought I would start looking for a new bathing suit, because everyone needs new swimmers for an overseas trip to a tropical location! I have decided I want a new full piece, not only are they chic but extremely practical (read flattering to a winter figure). I have narrowed it down to the below:
Of course, there are also some other essentials one needs to look respectable poolside – hat, sunglasses, cover-up, wedges and a cute tote to carry all the important things – cocktail money and my camera! These are my dream essentials:
What essentials do you take on a tropical escape?
Welcome to Autumn! What a way to welcome the new season with a gloomy, rainy and cold day. I am super excited to hit the town with some of my favourite girls tonight, and I am even more excited to be spending a much needed lazy weekend at home with my husband. Lately we have been really busy with birthday’s, christenings, catch ups and life in general so this weekend of nothingness is very much required.
Tonight we are heading to The Botanist in Kirribilli, a fairly new boutique bar that is quickly making a name for itself for serving up amazing cocktails and delicious food (I’ll be sure to fill you all in on my experience). Another reason for my excitement is that I am debuting my new leather pencil skirt. I have been waiting for the right occasion to bust this baby out and tonight feels like it may be the right time. But most of all, I love any excuse to go out with my girls for a cocktail or two and catch up on all the latest happenings.
For the weekend I have a few low-key projects I want to complete, mainly organising my accessories and trialling a few new recipes I have been collecting. I also want to clean out my wardrobe and work out what I need for the new seasons. But to be honest I would be happy just to indulge in a complete lazy weekend.
Rainy weather and a lazy weekend at home to me means cooking something cosy, the consuming of good wine, watching DVDs on the couch with my blanket and lots of laughing.
Happy Friday everyone and here’s to a fantastic, rainy weekend!

Another weekend over and I’m left reflecting on the lounge, with a cup of tea and piece of fudge, pretending that the ironing of tomorrow’s work clothes is unnecessary, wrinkles are in right?
Whilst I start planning this coming weekends shenanigans and begrudgingly pressing my outfit for tomorrow, enjoy my Insta-Update of last weekend:
Happy Monday all,
