A couple of weeks ago Anthony turned the big 3-0 and to celebrate I’m taking him to Hawaii in 2 weeks. This all sounds very exciting, except that I am sans swimsuit as my last one died in the back seat of my car thanks to my sometimes adorable puppy, Winston. As we head into the cooler months on this side of the world, I have turned my searching efforts to web to find all the swimsuits and resort wear one requires for the Maui shores! Here are my cozzie picks:
Window shopping always seems to cheer me up, even when I’m broke and can’t afford to buy anything I still get a kick out of perusing the perfectly primped windows. I seem to make mental notes, sometimes even snapping a picture or mentally piecing possible outfits together for future days when I’m actually in the market to purchase.

Whether you’re strolling the streets or watching the web, a little shopping never killed nobody!
The only thing better than online shopping is app shopping! More and more companies are creating apps where you can purchase direct from the comfort of your phone – wherever you may be. Stuck in peak hour traffic, why not purchase a new pair of shoes from The Iconic. Waiting at the doctors, no reason why you can pick up that blazer from Asos you’ve had your eye on! I’m sure I’m not the only one trawling my fashion apps for new items to purchase when I have a spare moment – watching TV, on the train or waiting inline for a coffee of a morning!
I must concede that whilst my wish list is always bursting at the seams, my shopping cart is a place where only the top performing pieces reside until pay-day. Very few items actually make this pile. You see I love the thrill of picking out item upon item I would snap up in a moments notice if I had unlimited funds or a body like Jennifer Lawrence, but in reality only the most cultivated of pieces make my shopping cart.
To become a top performing piece, the item must meet a certain criteria:
Will it suit my body type
Does this colour work with my complexion
Will it work with at least 3 items already residing in my closet
Is it versatile (can it be work to work, out for cocktails and to Sunday brunch)
Can I return it, no questions asked
Do I keep coming back to the item
If it passes this test , then to check out it goes! Here is a sneak peek of my current top performing pieces, I wonder which ones will graduate to the check out this pay…
Sydney has had a cold snap this week and for once I’m glad for my procrastinating ways since I didn’t get around to packing my winter wardrobe away last weekend as I had planned.
I discovered this dress hanging in the back of my wardrobe this morning which I had purchased at the beginning of the year but I have never worn. It’s perfect for work and perfect for today’s weather.
I love the monochromatic trend at the moment, it’s so chic, classic yet always feels modern no matter the era. It’s also a trend that is easy to achieve whilst still staying professional for the corporate environment I work in.

Leather is so hot right now (this has been typed in my best Zoolander impersonation). It seems that you can wear it for just about any occasion, making it an essential for any wardrobe. Here are my favourite leather pieces of the moment:

I love a statement piece. They always add an extra dimension to any outfit, and can especially jazz up an otherwise boring t-shirt and jeans combo. Usually a statement piece for me is bold and bright however currently I am in awe of this one from JCrew. I love the snow like colour and think it would look amazing against my dark, moody, winter wardrobe. The price however has made me consider alternative options. I found this one from Forever New and at only a fraction of the price.
