The other night I was itching for a drink, something special to brighten up my otherwise mundane Tuesday. I thought of this beauty as I was gathering the necessary items for dinner from the supermarket. Whilst waiting at the deli counter, I noticed a container of beautiful, snow dusted Turkish Delights. I had already decided to make my version of an Apple Martini, however, after being bewitched by the jelly like jewels I quickly concocted a new recipe to include them.
After collecting all the required ingredients, I hurried home to start mixing up my new martini, this is how it turned out:
- 60 ml Vodka
- 30 ml Vermouth
- 60 ml Apple Cider (alcoholic version)
- 60 ml pink lady apple juice
- 15 ml turkish delight syrup
- Slice of apple for garnish
For the syrup, roughly chop 1 large cube of turkish delight and place in a small bowl. Pour over approx. 100 mls boiling water and stir until a syrup forms. You can add more water if needed but not too much, as you want the srup to be quite thick.
Measure out each ingredients into a mixing jug, stir to combine and pour into a chilled martini glass. Thinly slice a pink lady apple and gently float onto.
