A couple of weeks ago Anthony turned the big 3-0 and to celebrate I’m taking him to Hawaii in 2 weeks. This all sounds very exciting, except that I am sans swimsuit as my last one died in the back seat of my car thanks to my sometimes adorable puppy, Winston. As we head into the cooler months on this side of the world, I have turned my searching efforts to web to find all the swimsuits and resort wear one requires for the Maui shores! Here are my cozzie picks:
Window shopping always seems to cheer me up, even when I’m broke and can’t afford to buy anything I still get a kick out of perusing the perfectly primped windows. I seem to make mental notes, sometimes even snapping a picture or mentally piecing possible outfits together for future days when I’m actually in the market to purchase.

Whether you’re strolling the streets or watching the web, a little shopping never killed nobody!
It has been a while and whilst I keep going to write posts, something always goes wrong for me – internet breaks, holiday season gets the best of me or I succumb to a DVD marathon of all my new favourite TV shows!
So I thought I would ease myself back into blogging for 2014 with an Insta Update so you all can see what I have been doing in the most flattering of filters of course!
The only thing better than online shopping is app shopping! More and more companies are creating apps where you can purchase direct from the comfort of your phone – wherever you may be. Stuck in peak hour traffic, why not purchase a new pair of shoes from The Iconic. Waiting at the doctors, no reason why you can pick up that blazer from Asos you’ve had your eye on! I’m sure I’m not the only one trawling my fashion apps for new items to purchase when I have a spare moment – watching TV, on the train or waiting inline for a coffee of a morning!
I must concede that whilst my wish list is always bursting at the seams, my shopping cart is a place where only the top performing pieces reside until pay-day. Very few items actually make this pile. You see I love the thrill of picking out item upon item I would snap up in a moments notice if I had unlimited funds or a body like Jennifer Lawrence, but in reality only the most cultivated of pieces make my shopping cart.
To become a top performing piece, the item must meet a certain criteria:
Will it suit my body type
Does this colour work with my complexion
Will it work with at least 3 items already residing in my closet
Is it versatile (can it be work to work, out for cocktails and to Sunday brunch)
Can I return it, no questions asked
Do I keep coming back to the item
If it passes this test , then to check out it goes! Here is a sneak peek of my current top performing pieces, I wonder which ones will graduate to the check out this pay…
Sometimes the world feels like it’s against you, you are running late for work, you get a ladder in your stockings whilst getting out of your car in a rush, you bang your knee on your draws as you rush to turn your computer on then you spill your coffee all over your new cream silk blouse before your 10am meeting!
It’s easy to indulge in negative mood but if you stop and think about three things that make you smile, it makes life so much easier – for you and everyone around you!
Three things making me smile today are:
A bunch of my favourite spring blooms
Fish & chips at the beach after work
A walk with my adoring husband – nothing makes me smile more than when I’m with him!
And if your still not smiling after that, just remember smiling creates fewer wrinkles!
On Saturday I finally started crossing off activities from my Sydney Bucket List that I posted about here. Anthony and I woke up early Saturday morning and drove across the bridge to complete the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk. It was approximately 14 km of steep stairs and narrow winding walkways that wrap around the shore line and boasted some spectacular scenery. I didn’t realise there were so many stairs, granted I didn’t bother to ask anyone, so my knee was feeling rather sorry for itself by the end of the walk. We managed complete the round trip in fairly good time and in one, slightly swollen, dehydrated and delirious piece.
Here are a few shots from the walk (including the obligatory breakfast shot):
The rest of the weekend was a bit of a right off and we spent it lounging around the apartment recovering from our adventure.
